Morawala Beach is located on the Laccadive Sea (part of Indian ocean) and it is in the 178th place out of 235 beaches in the Sri Lanka region 29.6 km away from its center, the city of Colombo. It is one of the beaches of Pitipanaveediya settlement, just 0.4 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, seniors etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

"This beach is not the best spot for swimming and unwinding as the water currents are quite strong and the wind can be quite forceful. Additionally, the shoreline is not sandy but rather rocky, and it's a popular spot for fishermen to cast their lines in the morning. However, I did have the opportunity to purchase some delicious fresh fish and oysters from the local vendors."
