Dodanduwa beach is located on the Laccadive Sea (part of Indian ocean) and it is in the 170th place out of 235 beaches in the Sri Lanka region 97.2 km away from its center, the city of Colombo. It is one of the beaches of Dodanduwa settlement, just 0.3 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area.

It is a spacious coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Dodanduwa beach coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature, changing rooms, showers, toilets. There is also possible to take different water activities such as catamarans or jet skis.

"The beach is quite lovely, although it doesn't seem to be a popular spot. However, if you venture out among the rocks, you'll be able to catch a glimpse of some vibrant fish, including ikiri, and a variety of other shallow water species. The location is also quite pleasant."
