Qarku i Durresit beach is located on the Adriatic Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 7th place out of 14 beaches in the Durrës region The beach is located in an urban area, among the mountains.
It is a spacious bay with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season.
Despite the fact that a significant part of the beach is occupied by resorts, there is still a fairly large area with free access. The beach facilities are only available to visitors of resort area. "We used to visit this beach multiple times in the past, many years ago. During that time, the parking was free and the beach was exceptionally clean. We would bring our own sandwiches and drinks. However, I've heard that it is now filled with garbage. Hopefully, the Albanian authorities will take action to address this issue. This beach is truly a gem of the Adriatic."
