Black Sand Beach is located on the Pacific ocean and it is in the 13th place out of 282 beaches in the Hawaii region 200.8 km away from its center, the city of Honolulu. It is one of the beaches of Hana settlement, just 3.8 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place with very picturesque views, among the mountains, surrounded by the cliffs. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a small bay with crystal turquoise water and, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is partially crowded during the high season. There is a campsite located nearby.

Black Sand Beach is fully occupied by beach clubs with restricted entrance. The beach facilities are only available to visitors of resort area. Their list includes, toilets. .

The beach stretches on the coast of the Maui island and the easiest way to get to the beach is by car or bike. If you don't have this option, then the second best solution is to use the taxi, which can drive you directly to the beach. The only problem, if your stay is far away it can be quite expensive. There is also a possibility of use of public transport, but in this case you need to check the correct route to the Black Sand Beach with the locals. Take into account that the bus stop is usually in some distance., but accessing the beach requires traversing some distance on foot. While driving or cycling are the most convenient options for reaching the start point of trail, these methods may not be feasible for everyone. Alternatively, a taxi can be used to drive directly to the location. "It is highly recommended to make a reservation prior to visiting this beach as it can get quite crowded. The scenery is breathtaking with a staircase leading down to the sandy shore. Unfortunately, the beach is not suitable for wheelchair users due to its lack of accessibility. Swimmers should exercise caution as the water has a sudden drop-off."

The wild waves in January were truly impressive, but they rolled in fast and made swimming unsafe. However, taking a leisurely stroll through the fascinating lava tube is an absolute must-do activity."
