Latest reviews on Lagos's beaches

Prainha Beach

This beach is my top pick in the area. It's particularly stunning during low tides, with breathtaking cliffs and natural arches. The beach is enclosed and there's a decent cafe/bar available.

Praia da Salema

This seaside spot boasts a classic beach setting with a lengthy expanse of sandy shore and the rhythmic sound of waves crashing onto the beach. The beach is flanked by rocky outcrops on both sides, which only add to the natural beauty of the landscape. For those who love to explore, a leisurely stroll past the rocky formations on the right is a must-do activity. However, it's important to time your walk according to the tides or come equipped with proper attire and swimming skills, as you may need to navigate over and around the rocks and may end up getting wet. Unfortunately, we had to cut our adventure short as the incoming tide was too swift for us to continue.

Praia dos Tres Castelos

Without a doubt, this destination is a must-see and deserves at least a full day of your time. The stunning rock formations that line the beach are a sight to behold and will captivate you from start to finish. The water is crystal clear and the beach is impeccably clean, leaving you with no other option but to revel in every moment spent here.

Praia de Porto de Mos

This beach is absolutely stunning, particularly during windy weather. The waves are truly impressive during high tide. 🙌😎

Barranco do Martinho

This petite beach nestled close to the Benagil caves is absolutely charming, but be prepared for a bit of a descent to reach it. It's important to note that there's no shade available, nor are there any huts to rent. If you plan on spending some time here, make sure to bring your own sun protection. The water near the shore can be a bit slimy due to algae growth, and there are quite a few rocks scattered along the water's edge. Despite these minor inconveniences, this beach is a delightful spot to unwind and soak up the sun on a warm summer day.

Praia de Dona Ana

It's quite interesting how the presence of rocks around a beach can add to its charm. In my humble opinion, the coastline of Lagos is unparalleled in its beauty. I am already looking forward to my next visit where I plan to explore the area with kayaks.
