Mirissa Beach

This is hands down one of the best beaches I have ever been to. The sand is pristine and the water is crystal clear, which is definitely the highlight of the experience.

Weligama Bay Beach

This beach is the perfect spot for beginners to learn how to surf, with a long stretch of shoreline that offers decent waves. However, it can get pretty crowded, but there are plenty of surf schools around. If you're looking for a good instructor, I recommend Kavinda or Lion for novice surfers. On the downside, it's worth noting that the city's sewer system empties directly into the sea near the surfing areas.

Koggala Beach

This serene and picturesque beach boasts an impressive length and width, making it a great option for a peaceful family getaway. Compared to Negombo, Kogala Beach is noticeably cleaner and the sand is a stunning shade of white. If you're in search of a tranquil escape, this beach is an excellent choice. However, if you're seeking a livelier atmosphere, head over to Mirissa Beach to mingle with more people.

Secret Beach Mirissa

This beach is a bit of a trek from the parking area, taking approximately 15 minutes to reach the shoreline. Additionally, the hotels in the area are quite expensive, so it's best to bring your own refreshments. However, the tranquility and peacefulness of the area make it well worth the effort. The water is crystal clear and inviting, making it hard to resist taking a dip. Don't miss out on this idyllic setting for a relaxing day at the beach.

We made unforgettable memories during our family trip to this beach. The resort is located right by the ocean, with pools available. The service was amazing, the staff were kind, and our room with a terrace and ocean view was very comfortable.
