Polhengoda - all beaches

This beach is undoubtedly one of the most stunning in the entire country. Not only are there plenty of restaurants to choose from for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, but it's also just a short drive from the city, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing evening. Additionally, it's a romantic location for couples to stroll along the shoreline hand in hand. As an added bonus, I wanted to share some vintage photos of the area from 2011.

This beach is a secure location to take a dip in the ocean, however, the water is heavily contaminated, making it unsuitable for swimming. Although, many families were present, it is not recommended for bathing. It is safe to bring children to play in the sand. Additionally, a navy camp is situated nearby, providing ample protection. Unfortunately, there are no lifeguards on duty. Several shops offer a variety of seafood such as crabs, prawns, and fried fish, as well as soft drinks, ice cream, rotee, and wade-like foods. It is best to travel by private vehicle or taxi, as public transportation is unreliable. The highlight of this beach is undoubtedly the stunning sunset view. Thank you.

Undoubtedly, the beach boasts breathtaking beauty. However, the upkeep leaves much to be desired. The abundance of litter is a major eyesore and detracts from the overall appeal. Additionally, the lack of shoreline along the expanse makes it difficult to find a comfortable spot to relax and relish in the surroundings.
