The waves at this beach are quite strong, and the water is not as clear as the other beaches in the area. However, it is a great spot for dog owners as dogs are permitted on this beach.
Nine Mile Beach, also known as Tuncurry Beach, is a fantastic destination for four-wheel driving, fishing, surfing, and dog walking. It offers a large unpatrolled stretch of sand where surfers can catch some great waves. On the southern end, there's Tuncurry Rockpool, a safe swimming area nestled into the breakwall. Families love this beach because it has a kiosk, a children's play area, and barbecue facilities. However, it's important to note that this beach is not patrolled. If you're a dog owner, you'll be pleased to know that there's an off-leash area north of the beach access track at Beach Street. Additionally, dogs can be walked on-leash at specific times in the morning and early evening south of that same beach access track up to the breakwall. Another unique attraction of the Barrington Coast is the opportunity to go beach horse riding on Nine Mile Beach with Horseabout Tours.
This beach is absolutely fantastic to visit. It's the perfect place to spend the day and enjoy some peace and quiet with your family. It's also dog friendly, as long as you clean up after them, and it's great that there is 4x4 access, although you do need a permit. Just make sure to check if it's patrolled where you plan to go if you want to take on the waves.
The beach is absolutely stunning and untouched. It's perfect for fishing or simply rejuvenating your spirit. The walk during low tide from Tuncurry to Blackhead is absolutely fantastic.
The beach is absolutely stunning. Dogs are welcome here throughout the day, but they must be kept on a leash between 5am and 9am as well as 5pm to 8pm. However, from 9am to 5pm, dogs are allowed to roam freely without a leash.
