Looks like a tropical beach on sunny day. Sand is a bit unusual. There is a good coffee and food available to purchase from a small van.
Absolutely gorgeous spot. One of the most beautiful beaches of southwest Ireland. Course sand, calm waters - had a great swim, almost warm! The setting is fantastic - surrounded by hills, fields and yellow-painted farmhouses. The village of Allihies 1km on the hill above looks amazing with brightly coloured houses. Parking for about 15 vehicles. Campsite directly above the beach. Fresh tea/coffee, snacks and cooked food from the van by the carpark.
What a wonderful part of the world. Great drive to and from. Great Scenic views all around this area. Beautiful tranquil part of the world with beautiful sunsets and amazing sea views and mountain roads well worth the visit. By car or by Bike
Great place 4camping it has toilets, showers, washing machine, tumble dryer and a phone charging port. The beach is great but kids that can't swim should be accompanied in the water there is a drop and it gets to deep. There are a few food trucks for coffee and a bit to eat.
Really nice beach with a little courser sand. We were driving the ring and didn't expect to encounter a beach for some reason. We stopped by and sat on the beach for a good 30 mins. It was beautiful with a slight breeze, some cool rock formations and a coffee stand not too far away. Thewater wasn't completely clear of sea weed but good enought to swim! I did notice we plastic, trash and fishing gear but it wasnt a lot... I mean any is too much but it could be worse. If you're in the area stop by
