I've been going to this beach on and off for quite a few years. I really like it as it is convenient to San Vito. It has no lifeguard service and the water can drop away quickly in depth if you are thinking of taking young children, so be aware. It has been cleaner in previous years and perhaps it's locality to ortona port has ruined it's clean water over those years.
Water is aparrently not suitable for swimming, health risk

Beach located between Punta Piolala and the S.Vito pier. Evidently eroding in the half belonging to the municipality of Ortona where it remained free. In the part of S.Vito beyond the historic lido, the municipality had the questionable idea of granting concessions to all that was the free beach, moreover using the formula "free equipped beach" (an obvious mockery in as a beach is either free or equipped). The result is that there are 3 new bathing establishments, always or almost empty, whose main business is actually catering for Sunday tourists who come to eat frozen fish, convinced that it is fresh. All this by occupying the beach with useless umbrellas, and with gigantic structures that are not removed even in winter in spite of the "free equipped beach". The part of Ortona is undergoing strong erosion and within a few years it will no longer be there. The quality of the water is influenced by the presence of the Feltre stream and the Cinzioni ditch (which gives its name to the beach) and is therefore not too high. Frequented mainly by local residents during the week, they are there on weekends Locals from the hinterland and "Sunday cycle tourists".
