Playa Cahuita is located on the Caribbean Sea (part of South Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 162th place out of 233 beaches in the Costa Rica region 134.7 km away from its center, the city of San Jose. It is one of the beaches of Limonal settlement, just 0.9 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a long lasting coastline with turquoise water and pure bright fine sand, so you don't need special shoes. The entrance to the water is very smooth. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Playa Cahuita is located in Costa Rica within Limonal, which makes it not only easily accessible, but even popular among tourists. However, during the high season it is quite uncrowded, which allows you to spend a comfortable time on the coast.

The beach stretches on the sunny coast, within the boundaries of the settlement, it is not difficult to get to it. If your stay is located not far from the beach, you can reach it by walking. In this case you will not be tied to finding parking or to the schedule of public transport. If you are traveling by car just use your navigator. In any case, do not forget about the availability of public transport and taxis.

"We headed past Playa Negra to see what the next beach was like. 5/5 for cleanliness and solitude, most of the time, even on a Saturday afternoon, we were alone. No music, no loud people, just the roar of the ocean. One lady was even bathing topless. Unfortunately, as has been the case everywhere around here this week, the waves have been quite high for much swimming, but rea..."
