Lido di Scanzano beach is located on the Ionian Sea (part of Mediterranean Sea) and it is in the 4th place out of 10 beaches in the Matera region 48 km away from its center, the city of Matera. It is one of the beaches of Terzo Marzoccolo settlement, just 4 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place.
It is a long lasting coastline with blue water and brown sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, seniors etc. It is partially crowded during the high season. There is a campsite located nearby.
Despite the fact that a significant part of the beach is occupied by resorts, there is still a fairly large area with free access. The beach facilities are only available to visitors of resort area.
