White Sand is located on the Caribbean Sea (part of South Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 74th place out of 105 beaches in the Jamaica region 49.9 km away from its center, the city of Kingston. It is one of the beaches of Leith Hall settlement, just 1 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

"This secluded and exclusive Beach was crafted with the aid of a bulldozer during the years of 1998 to 2000, following the abandonment of the campsite by the Jamaican army. A charmingly preserved small pond, located at the North East corner of the beach, serves as a sanctuary for a diverse array of wildlife."
