Playa Muerto is located on the Pacific ocean and it is in the 2th place out of 4 beaches in the Darien region 62 km away from its center, the city of La Palma. It is one of the beaches of Playa Muerto settlement, just 0.1 km from its center. The beach is located in a natural place with very picturesque views, among the mountains.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and brown sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers, hikers etc. It is almost deserted place even during the high season.

Playa Muerto coast is free for all. It has no amenities, only nature, toilets. .

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can also take part in other activities. There are also some surf spots.

Playa Muerto (Darien) is located outside the Playa Muerto settlement, which may cause some difficulties for travelers who stay far from the coast. However, the remoteness from the village is not always a bad thing. Lovers of quiet rest know, the farther the beach, the fewer crowds.

The beach stretches on the sunny coast and the correct question is not how to get to Playa Muerto, but what mode of transport can be used to get to it, because this part of the coast is inaccessible by land. The beach can only be reached by water and you have to rent a boat to get there.

"Wow, that was one of the best trips of my life. On foot from the town Garachinè. 12 hours through the jungle and then a tremendous sunset. Sleeping in a typical house of the tribe there. Unforgettable. There are no tourist agencies that offer a trip like this. Getting there is difficult because of the tide, but we made it."

"Amazing experience with friendly locals. Hiked into the jungle hoping to see a harpy eagle. Beautiful hike through mainly untouched jungle forest. We didn’t get to see the eagles but were able to assist in releasing a few hundred sea turtles."
