Pitanga Beach

This beach is a beautiful spot where you can enjoy some peace and quiet, even during Carnival week. You can easily drive right up to the beach and park for either R$20 or R$10. It's conveniently located near the highway and has a great family-friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend visiting this beach.

Praia em Paraty
8 Larina Silva

It's a pleasant spot, but I find the ocean water unsuitable for swimming.

Itamambuca Beach

This beach is just fabulous, if you're into the whole "secluded and not busy" thing. It's got plenty of space, especially if you're lucky enough to snag a spot in the middle. But don't be fooled, the river is the real hotspot and it can get pretty crowded over there. The water is pretty nice, even for the little ones. It's not like there were any gnarly waves or anything when we were there. All in all, we had a pretty good time.
