Calm, measured rest and the sound of waves are perhaps the most common associations that arise with the word "beach". This is not surprising, as relaxation is exactly what many beach travelers are looking for. If you associate your vacation primarily with such activity, choose one of the 109 beaches in the country.
To make your choice easier, we have prepared a list of the best beaches for relaxation in Canada.
As for the main features of the beaches of Canada, they are as follows:
Wild beaches with no infrastructure dominate the coastline of Canada however, even here you can find a beach with a standard set of accessories: sun beds, umbrellas, restaurants, showers and toilets.
This place is really nice with amazing views and a fascinating history connected to the indigenous people of the region. The combination of shale and kettle rocks is quite intriguing to observe. It's definitely worth a visit to capture a few pictures, but it's important to be cautious and discourage children from running around and breaking shale, as it is not well-received.
The beach is well-maintained by the city, ensuring that everyone can have a great day. The water is quite chilly, so don't forget your wetsuit! There is a spacious sandy area for setting up your belongings, but remember that larger structures like gazebos should be placed at or behind the lifeguard stands. Overall, it's a very pleasant beach to visit.
This beach is truly a hidden gem. It has a lovely and secluded atmosphere, and is also dog friendly.
We have been coming to this beach for more than 5 years now, and we absolutely adore this place even more than the main strip in Grand Bend. The cost is $14 per car, and I can't recall the exact price per person, but it is quite affordable for the area. On hot days or weekends, it can get incredibly crowded, so it's advisable to arrive early if you want to secure a picnic table or find a shaded area with trees. We always bring our own propane BBQ and enjoy grilling, but the park also provides stand-up charcoal BBQs for public use if necessary. The grass is well-maintained and clean, and the beach is spacious and not as packed as the main strip. It's always our go-to spot whenever we visit the beach.
This spot along Highway 17 is absolutely stunning for a quick stop. The scenery, terrain, and the soothing sound of the waves create a peaceful and calming experience. I'm even tempted to bring a tent and set it up on the beach. When I stopped, I found the washroom facilities to be exceptionally clean. Additionally, there are trails in the vicinity. However, if you decide to take a dip in the chilly waters of Lake Superior, exercise caution as the winds can suddenly become strong and there are no lifeguards on duty. Within the wooded area next to the beach, you'll find several picnic benches. Placards with important and interesting information are also placed at the picnic area and the trailhead. If you do decide to stop here, I recommend planning to stay for a little while to fully immerse yourself in the relaxing atmosphere and appreciate the tranquility of Lake Superior.
This beach is less crowded than others, including those in provincial parks. The beachfront is mostly rocky, but transitions to sand once you're in the water. The water is clean and clear, with a gentle slope that is perfect for kids and deeper areas for swimming. There are no big waves here, and there are concessions nearby. While it may not be ideal for playing on sand dunes, it's a great spot for a refreshing swim in the lake.
There are few offers for accommodation in the beach area, so finding a suitable place to stay can be a problem. You can use the map search to get more information about this.
