Leona - all beaches

Our stay at Villa 8 in Roma Del Mar was far from enjoyable. The house may have been beautiful, but the location was incredibly remote and required a 4 wheel drive just to access it. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere with no access to any activities or attractions. While Natalia and Caroline were helpful with our accommodations, the lack of things to do made our stay unbearable. The only highlight was the restaurant where Mike and his staff made great pizza, but even their friendliness couldn't make up for the lack of options. To make matters worse, we lost a piece of luggage on our last day and Lars was the only one who could help us. While he did go above and beyond to meet us in town and retrieve our luggage, it was too little too late. The only communication we had during our stay was through WhatsApp, which was hardly a consolation. We were stuck in a beautiful house with nothing to do but stare at the amazing view.

We spent two weeks in Costa Rica and our favorite part was definitely our week at Opacifico beach. The beach and resort are both beautiful. Susanna, Luis, and Ian were fantastic hosts and made us feel special throughout our stay. The excursions, especially the bioluminescence night kayaking tour, were a lot of fun. We highly recommend spending your day relaxing in a hammock on the beach.

This place may seem wonderful at first glance, but don't be fooled by its beauty. The beach is plagued with an overwhelming amount of waste, both in and outside the water. It's a shame that such a stunning location is tarnished by the careless actions of others. Salud, indeed.

Undoubtedly, this beach may seem pleasant with its mild waves, but only during the dry season. One cannot overlook the unsightly sight of driftwood and scattered litter polluting the shore. Although there might be some relief from the scorching sun under the shade, the rocky perimeter of the bay is hardly inviting. Moreover, the sea appears to be rather shallow and uneventful.

Quiet beach

This stunning beach boasts crystal-clear waters that are so calm, you'll feel as though you're floating on a cloud. The beach is adorned with aged trunks that offer the perfect resting spot, and the surrounding greenery is lush with vegetation and palm trees that offer a cool, shaded respite from the sun. The beach and green areas are impeccably maintained and spotlessly clean, with a well-manicured lawn that is both short and inviting. It's clear that the local municipality takes great pride in ensuring that visitors to this beach have a truly exceptional experience.
