Governor's Beach

We usually go to Governors Beach and usually dine at a restaurant located at the northern end. However, this time we decided to try out the restaurant at the southernmost part. The restaurant has a beautiful garden with grass and trees that overlook the beach and sea. If you dine at the restaurant, you can use the sunbeds for free. The sea in this area is well-protected from the prevailing wind, and the water is warm, calm, and clear. The fish Taverna offers a wide range of dishes, including meat dishes and other Cypriot specialties. I ordered the sea bass, which was surprisingly large, well-cooked, and delicious. My wife had the red mullet, which was also good. We enjoyed a nice salad and apple pie to complete our meal. The service was decent, although the waiter could have been a bit friendlier. All in all, the location and garden were lovely, and the food was pretty good. We will definitely visit again.

Zygi beach II

The fish tavern was nice and the staff were friendly and polite, at least by Cyprus' standards. The service was really quick, considering there were only 2 tables. The starters arrived after 5 minutes and the rest of the food came after another 5-10 minutes. The Sea Breeze Salad was delicious and I definitely recommend it. The Dips, which cost €2.50, were served with a medium-large village homecooked bread, and I also highly recommend them. I gave the food a 4-star rating because the cooked vegetables were drenched in olive oil, to the point where the oil was literally dripping. The Ouzomezedes were served with French fries, rice, and cooked vegetables, even though they were not mentioned on the menu.

This beach is a hidden gem with its unique volcanic dark sand that adds to its charm. It served as a perfect stopover during my journey from Protaras to Paphos. Although the tavern here may be on the pricier side, the tranquil bays that line the shore make up for it. Walking along the secluded coastline and listening to the gentle waves crashing against the shore was a peaceful and serene experience. Overall, a great spot to unwind and take in the natural beauty of Cyprus.
