Pagua Bay Beach

My husband and I stayed at Pagua Bay House for 5 days. The only reason we didn't stay longer was because Pagua Bay House was fully booked and we couldn't extend our stay. From the moment Sheldon, the manager, picked us up at the airport until the morning we left on 2/6, it was an absolutely delightful experience. Everyone at Pagua Bay House, including the owners Alicia and Rick, the manager Sheldon, the restaurant servers Vernel, Kimmy, Lauren, and the chef Lisa, as well as the housekeeper, were incredibly friendly, helpful, and made us feel completely welcome and comfortable. The location of Pagua Bay House was perfect for us, just steps away from the Atlantic Ocean. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the screened windows allowed us to listen to the soothing sound of the ocean all night long, like a lullaby. Every morning, Alicia was available during breakfast to assist us in planning our daily activities. She helped us find drivers as we didn't feel confident enough to drive in Dominica, considering the UK-style driving and narrow, winding roads with potholes. Alicia also made reservations for us at restaurants that we loved and were conveniently located for our day's activities. She even organized cost-sharing for drivers with other guests who had similar preferences. All the drivers she arranged for us, Reggie, Jeremy, and Elvis, were warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. Alicia also arranged for a small group of three guests, including us, to attend the opening of Marigot's Carnival on February 4th at 5:00 AM. It was an incredible and joyful experience for everyone. Despite being outsiders, we felt completely welcomed and safe during the festivities. We danced continuously with the locals until 11:00 AM, which was a highlight of our amazing experiences in Dominica. The Pagua Bay restaurant is situated beautifully on a hill with a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean. The food was excellent, and the servers were charming. Words cannot express how much we enjoyed our time at Pagua Bay House. We are already planning to return next year.

The beach could easily be considered the best in Dominica. Additionally, the sand is of a golden, fine texture that adds to the overall appeal.

It appears that there has been an erroneous review regarding this beach. Contrary to what was stated, this beach is actually free of charge, unlike Batibou beach which requires a fee of 5USD. Furthermore, during the daytime, a security officer is present to ensure the safety of all visitors. This beach is situated at a stunning location where the Hampstead River merges with the ocean, resulting in a secluded and picturesque setting. While the ocean swells can be hazardous, the river mouth offers a tranquil and serene atmosphere.
