This Greek beach is nothing short of breathtaking, with crystal clear waters and soft sand that will make you feel like you're in paradise. And when you're done soaking up the sun, you can head over to one of the nearby tavernas for a delicious meal and refreshing drink. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind, surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Paralia Kalogrias
10 Kaelen Zephyrion

Kalogria beach, also known as Παραλία Καλόγριας in Greek, is a stunning sandy beach that has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag designation. It can be found near the village of Araxos in the Northwestern Peloponnese region of Greece. The beach is situated next to the Sprofylia natural park and is approximately 9 kilometers long and 80 meters wide, making it one of Greece's longest sandy beaches. The area surrounding the beach is dotted with sand dunes, which have been formed by sea sand that is carried by westerly winds and the Ionian Sea waves. These dunes cover an area of 200 hectares and can reach heights of up to 10 meters and widths of 20 to 500 meters. The largest sand dune in Peloponnese and one of the largest in Greece can be found at the north edge of the beach. Tourists and locals alike flock to Kalogria beach, which is conveniently located near several hotels and restaurants. The Araxos airport is also just 7 kilometers away. Unfortunately, the Strofylia forest beside the beach has been the target of several arson attempts over the past decade, with two major incidents occurring in 2015 and 2017. Despite this, the beach remains a popular destination for those seeking to enjoy the natural beauty of Greece. Visitors to the beach from the north may not even notice the effects of the fires, except for a small area next to the large dune.

Sadova beach
10 Natalya Kovalenko.

The pristine waters of this beach are crystal clear and immaculate. As you wade into the sea, the sensation of the smooth stones beneath your feet gradually gives way to soft sand. With a snorkeling mask, you can explore the underwater world teeming with fascinating marine life.

Delfinia beach
10 Nikolas Karamanlis.

This stunning beach boasts a charming café and convenient restroom facilities. Though the majority of the shoreline is covered in smooth stones, there are pockets of soft sand to sink your toes into. Visiting in June, I was pleased to find that the beach was never overcrowded. However, if you're hoping for a prime spot, it's best to arrive early and claim your spot. Some areas of the beach offer shade well into the afternoon, making it the perfect spot for a midday siesta. Parking is available at the top of the road or closer to the beach if you arrive early enough. The crystal-clear waters make it a wonderful destination for swimming and snorkeling.
