Latest reviews on Abruzzo's beaches

Spiaggia di Valle Grotte
10 Marco Giovanniello

This beach is undoubtedly one of the best on the Abruzzo coast. The sea is crystal clear and it's best to visit in the morning for the best experience. Nearby, there's the Trabocco Valle Grotte restaurant, which is the best in the area. I highly recommend going there for lunch or dinner and enjoying the incredible atmosphere. There aren't many parking spots, but don't worry about leaving your car on the street.

Spiaggia di Calata Turchino
10 Kellan Briggs

This particular beach on the Italian Adriatic coastline is undoubtedly one of my favourite spots. The water is crystal clear and pristine, and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking, with picturesque trabocchi adding to the charm. The beach is composed of small stones, which makes it incredibly comfortable to spend the day here without the annoyance of sand. Snorkelling is a great activity to enjoy in the area, and fishing is also an option, though it's only recommended during certain seasons. Overall, this beach is a hidden gem that is definitely worth a visit.

Spiaggia della Canale
10 Nicoletta Rinaldi

The pebble beach is conveniently within walking distance from state road 16 towards Pescara. After passing the signs on the right that lead to a residential area and private access, park your car on the right in a small open space and take the unpaved road down. If you have a 4x4 or a vehicle with good traction, you can drive down a short section. The view is absolutely breathtaking, the water is crystal clear, and there's a nice stretch of walking area. You're guaranteed to feel relaxed!

Scogliera di Casarza
10 JoyfulEnd

This stretch of sand boasts an impeccable promenade perfect for a leisurely stroll or a brisk bike ride. For those seeking a bit of variety, there are numerous other beaches accessible by parking in the ample lot and following the verdant trail. So, get ready to soak up some sun and enjoy the salty sea breeze on this picturesque beach.

Spiaggia di Vignola
8 Julienna

The shoreline of Spiqggia is adorned with smooth pebbles, encircled by towering rocks and cascading waves. Despite the water not being entirely transparent, I would rate this beach a solid 4 stars.

Please note that lifeguards supervise 27 beaches in the region, but you should rely on more than just them, remember the elementary rules, as lifeguards are not on duty around the clock, even on equipped beaches!

Finding hotels in relative proximity to the beaches is usually fine. Many beaches have enough nearby accommodation, which gives good opportunities to choose the right place to stay.

The hottest month of the region is August - air temperature during this time warms up to 27.7°C and water up to 27.4°C. The coldest month is January - air temperature drops to 10.2°C and water to 13.4°C.
