We just got back from a week-long stay at La Guardia with our two teenage daughters, and we couldn't have asked for a more relaxing time. The hotel's simplicity and style perfectly capture the natural beauty and charm of the unspoiled island, which is reflected in the menu, atmosphere, decor, and pace of the hotel. The terrace, situated above the beach, offered a magical view of the sea. We enjoyed breakfasts, reading during the day, playing cards and having early evening drinks, as well as dinners there. The gentle breeze, warmed by the sun and cooled by the sea, was delightful as it rustled the grass and carried the joyful sounds from the beach below. The hotel is located at the end of the seafront in Port, far enough from the busy ferry landing but close enough to feel connected to the island community. Yoga classes on the hotel's beach veranda were enhanced by the touch of the breeze, the soothing sound of waves, and the soft evening light. There were plenty of activities to do, such as walking to nearby beaches like Arenella and Caldane, taking a boat tour around the island, or climbing the hill to Giglio Castello. We also took advantage of the regular island bus service to explore the west side of the island and have unforgettable memories of watching the sunset on Campese beach. Unfortunately, we missed the chance to visit Giannutri island and its Roman temple, as well as one of Giglio's vineyards. It was a wonderful escape from the busyness of life, allowing us to appreciate the simple beauty. We want to express our gratitude to all the staff at La Guardia. You were welcoming yet discreet, and your willingness to share your knowledge and love for the beautiful Island of Giglio was greatly appreciated. We can't wait to visit again soon and experience the tranquility once more!
