Sandy beach is a great spot for picnics, but it may not be the best for swimming due to the strong smell of fish throughout the area. There appears to be a pink oil residue on the shore, which could possibly be fish blood or oil. I tried switching to different spots, but the issue persisted. Overall, I would recommend heading back to Le Morne Beach for a lovely and clean beach experience.

The beach has a great location and offers simple yet well-managed accommodation that provides excellent value. The staff were all very helpful, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a straightforward and well-maintained place to stay in a beautiful and authentic Mauritian setting.

This was my 8th visit to the beautiful island of Mauritius and I definitely plan on coming back again. We've always wanted to stay at the Shangri-La here and we're excited for our upcoming stay. The service at the hotel is top-notch, the staff are amazing, Chef Ahmed and his team whip up delicious dishes, and we enjoyed every meal at the buffet restaurant. The waitstaff are all fantastic. Although we had some issues at one of the restaurants, the staff quickly resolved them. The hotel is a bit outdated and in need of a renovation, but I believe that's in the works. The property itself is stunning and the beach is absolutely beautiful. Our room had a lovely view of the beach and was comfortable. I'm sure once the hotel is renovated, it will meet the standards of other Shangri-La hotels. The hotel is a bit far from Port Louis and Grand Baie, so I recommend renting a car for a day trip. It's definitely worth the drive. I can't wait to come back once the renovations are complete.

We recently had an amazing time at the Veranda Palmar Hotel. The rooms were clean and had beautiful decorations, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. However, what really made our stay special was the exceptional service from the hotel staff. They were friendly, welcoming, and always went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. Whether it was giving us recommendations for local activities or simply greeting us with a warm smile, the staff made us feel right at home. The food menu was well-planned and offered a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Each meal was skillfully prepared and bursting with flavor, making every dining experience a true delight. Overall, I highly recommend the Veranda Palmar Hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and rejuvenating vacation. The stunning rooms, attentive staff, and delicious food contributed to an unforgettable experience. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so wonderful!

Wow, this resort is truly a hidden gem. It embodies the essence of the Four Seasons experience. The private rooms are spacious and come with a delightful splash pool, a backyard outdoor shower, and a front garden that leads directly to the beach. The warm welcome we received from the staff upon check-in was truly heartwarming. The food at the Indian restaurant was exceptional, and we must give credit to the talented chef and the attentive staff. However, we were slightly disappointed with the breakfast options as they seemed to be the same every day. Nevertheless, the service provided by the staff and management was outstanding. The property itself is like a dream come true. The only downside is that it is quite far from Port Louis and Grand Baie, so we would recommend renting a car for a day trip. It's definitely worth the time and effort. We would love to return to this resort, but next time we would opt for the breakfast option only and enjoy meals at the on-site restaurants.
