This beach is the ideal destination for couples, groups, and families looking for a secluded getaway. The self-catering accommodation is reasonably priced and provides all the necessary amenities for travelers who don't want to bring everything but the kitchen sink. You'll have enough personal items, food, and beverages to last your stay. Access to the beach is limited to 4x4 vehicles only, and there are few nearby shops, so it's important to bring enough supplies for your entire stay. There are breathtaking hidden gems to discover within walking distance for those who are willing to explore. Overall, it's a worthwhile stay and I will definitely come back!

We had an amazing one week stay at Macachula Lodge in June-July. The location is stunning, right on the beach where you can step out of your chalet onto the sandy shore. The area boasts expansive beaches with impressive tidal ranges, perfect for swimming. There is a large lagoon with wild tidal currents to explore, as well as a calm little lagoon regardless of the tide. The mangrove swamps and flamingoes add to the natural beauty of the surroundings. Activities such as fishing, kayaking, long beach walks, and relaxation are all available. Local vendors visit daily with fresh fruits, vegetables, and delicious hot bread rolls. Occasionally, we were able to purchase crabs or fish to cook. The chalets are well-equipped for comfort, with daily cleaning services provided by the friendly staff. We appreciated the unique reed 'curtains' instead of traditional glass windows. The kitchens are stocked with everything needed for food preparation, including crockery, cutlery, and pots and pans. While guests are required to bring their own food and toiletries, the provided linens, bath towels, and dishcloths are in good condition. Overall, our experience at Macachula Lodge was wonderful thanks to the welcoming and helpful staff.
