D'offay Road Beach

We live in London and have friends who reside on the island of Mahé. However, whenever we visit them, we always choose this amazing residence. This is our second time staying at Villa Luana Yuna, and we have noticed that there are always pleasant surprises. The garden is meticulously cared for, despite the vastness of the property. Every plant and palm tree is perfectly maintained. It's delightful to be able to enjoy the coconuts that fall in the garden. Additionally, it's wonderful to simply cross the road and be at the beach, especially during low tide when you can take a walk to the coral reef. The area is residential and peaceful, yet conveniently located near all the necessary amenities such as restaurants, markets, and a craft village. Stanley, the caretaker, prepared an excellent barbecue and a traditional Creole dinner for us. Luana, the owner, assisted us in renting a car at a great price, which we highly recommend using to explore the island, although there is a bus stop right in front of the villas. Most importantly, we want to express our gratitude for the numerous tips that enhanced our second experience with you. We will definitely return to visit because we feel right at home at Villa Luana Yuna. Thank you for everything.

Moyenne Island Beach II

Wow, what an incredible experience it was! Right from the beginning, it was absolutely amazing. To reach the bar from Mahe island, you have to take a boat, and the crew on the boat was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. As you approach Moyenne island, you can spot the Jolly Roger bar, and you also have the opportunity to explore the island on foot. I highly recommend hiring a local tour guide as they know the best viewpoints for stunning photos and can provide fascinating insights into the history of the place. At the Jolly Roger bar and restaurant, you can indulge in a fantastic selection of local cuisine. We had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious and flavorful local buffet. The bar itself is also a great place to relax and unwind, and the staff there were exceptionally friendly. After our meal, a small group of locals entertained us with a delightful session of local music, showcasing their talent with various instruments. If you happen to be in the vicinity of Mahe island, I highly recommend taking this trip and visiting the Jolly Roger Bar and restaurant. It truly is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And to make it even better, there is a charming and friendly dog named Yellow. Don't forget to spend some time playing with Yellow if you have the chance.

To access the beach, you'll need to walk the final 250m on foot as it's gated off. Nonetheless, the beach is lovely and has shallow waters, and it's not overly crowded.

Undoubtedly, Mahé boasts the most stunning beach one could ever lay eyes on. Surfers will find solace in the big waves that grace the shore. Snorkeling is a viable option for those who venture to the right side of the beach, past the stones. However, it is crucial to note that only skilled swimmers should attempt to take a dip. Reckless individuals need not apply. Accessing the beach requires a bit of a trek. One must park their car roughly 10 minutes away and make their way on foot. But fear not, for upon arrival, one will find the beach to be practically deserted, save for some friendly stray dogs lounging about.

This beach is truly stunning, with its white sand and impressive waves. However, it's important to exercise caution while swimming due to the hidden rocks beneath the surface. Despite this, the view alone is worth a visit.
