This beach is incredible! Let's make sure to keep it clean.

Playa Carranques
8 Miguel Soto Luna

This stunning sandy beach is located next to the abandoned Perlora Vacation City, just a stone's throw away from Candás, the capital of the Asturian council of Carreño. It is a great spot to spend a pleasant day at the beach, with its golden fine sand and moderate waves, as well as its stunning coves, caves and abundant vegetation. To the west of the beach, Entrellusa Island can be seen, which was the site of an ancient whaling port since 1232. There is also a coastal, pedestrian path, taking advantage of the route of an old railway, to the nearby town of Xivares, making it an ideal complement to a day of beach fun. With good equipment and rescue services in high season, this is a great spot for all types of people.

Salinas Beach
8 Malcolm Ullman

This beach near Las Pineras is the perfect spot to cool off and unwind. With a wide stretch of sand, it's ideal for swimming and there are lifeguards on duty to ensure safety. If you're looking to learn how to surf, lessons are available too.

Luanco Beach

The beach may be small, but it is certainly picturesque and secluded. Its orange sand is ideal for taking a stroll on a sunny winter day, but in summer it tends to be crowded. The town of Luanco is lovely, and the food is great - but the beach still doesn't make up for the throngs of people in the summertime.

Xago Beach

Far from ideal for family trips. The sand is too fine and the area is too open, making it difficult to find any privacy. Furthermore, getting to the beach from Avilés by bus is a hassle. There are some cliffs nearby, but it's not an inviting place to take a stroll.

Playa de la Palmera

This place is a beautiful sight on a sunny day, with its unique terrain. Unfortunately, it is quite rocky, making it difficult to know where to place your feet. However, it is easily accessible, making it an ideal spot for a day out.
