This place is a local spot with big waves. The shoreline is lined with small stones, making it a unique place to visit.
A steep and rocky area, not ideal for lounging or relaxing. There is some nice flora and a pleasant walking area, but the waves are too rough to be enjoyable.
The beach was hard to get to and not worth the effort since it was beneath a big banana tree. On the day we visited, the water had a cloudy, white appearance which seemed odd to me. I'm not sure if it's safe to swim in, it could be contaminated.
The views from both coasts are stunning. Taking the bus from Buenavista del norte is a good option as the road is very winding and can get congested when it's opened. You can get there for just 1 euro each way and enjoy the hills and valleys along the way. There are several stops in the center of town and along the way. People do come here for fishing and picnics, however, there are no facilities so make sure to bring whatever you may need.
