Casuarina Beach

This beach, like many other tourist beaches in Jaffna, is unfortunately filled with garbage, has dirty water, and is neglected and abandoned. It's disheartening to pay 500 rupees to visit a place that is promoted as beautiful for tourism, only to find a completely different reality. It's sad to see the poor conditions of most tourist spots, especially considering the high prices we have to pay. The sand is covered in various plastic items, and most of the trees have been cut down. However, the local people seem to accept their landscape as it is. They pay 250 rupees to enter a public beach, which also provides a lifeguard service. Unfortunately, you will also come across numerous street dogs, some of which are sadly in worse conditions compared to other areas in Jaffna and Sri Lanka. On a positive note, the road leading to this beach offers beautiful views despite being in poor condition. There is still a lot of nature that remains untouched by human destruction.

Keerimalai beach

Located right next to Kankesanturai beach, this stunning location is open to the public at no cost. While it may not be the most highly recommended beach for relaxation, it is an absolute paradise for photographers and beach enthusiasts alike. The best times to visit are in the mornings, afternoons and early evenings, when the views are truly breathtaking. So if you're looking for a place to soak up the sun and take in the beauty of nature, Kankesanturai beach is the perfect spot for you.

Kovalam Beach

If you're looking for a peaceful and secluded beach, this is the one for you. It's not the ideal spot for swimming due to the shallow waters, but if you continue walking past the navy camp, you'll find deeper waters to take a dip in. It's an excellent spot to catch a beautiful sunset.
