Calm, measured rest and the sound of waves are perhaps the most common associations that arise with the word "beach". This is not surprising, as relaxation is exactly what many beach travelers are looking for. If you associate your vacation primarily with such activity, choose one of the 7 beaches in the island.
To make your choice easier, we have prepared a list of the best beaches for relaxation in Heybeliada.
As for the main features of the beaches of Heybeliada, they are as follows:
The beaches in Heybeliada are used mainly by beach clubs (resorts), usually open to everyone but for a fee. These establishments offer a full range of amenities with limited operational hours. At the same time, you can still find a wild beach, use our filter for this.
We got to the beach in the late afternoon after not being able to get to Wild Beach nearby. It was nice to have the beach all to ourselves. Esen sold us soft drinks at a fair price and mentioned that we didn't have to pay for the sun loungers. I'm not sure if this was because of the time of day. We had a great time sunbathing and swimming for two hours. Eden's choice of music also added to the overall atmosphere.
The beach on Heybeliada is pretty nice, better than some others, but the water isn't very clean. I saw some crabs while swimming with goggles, which was cool. The water is about 2.5 meters deep and gets deeper quickly. If you're not a strong swimmer, consider wearing a life vest as it can be challenging to swim there.
This island is a great escape from Istanbul, just a one-hour boat ride away.
The beach is lovely. We paid 150 TL per person (not sure why someone complained about this) and took the boat from the easily visible port. It wasn't crowded on weekdays, which was great. The water was clean.
This place is extremely disappointing. It's ridiculous to charge 400 lira for such a terrible experience. There is not even any sand to be seen. The toilets are filthy and the staff cannot communicate in English. When they don't understand you, they become angry. This place has absolutely nothing to do with a beach. It should only cost 40 lira considering how bad it is. I would strongly advise against taking their free boat. The return trips in the afternoon are very infrequent, usually only at 5 or 6 pm. The music is excessively loud, making it impossible to have a conversation. I recommend looking for a better place. This location does not resemble a beach in any sense.
The service at this beach is absolutely awful! Moreover, the staff running the establishment are extremely rude. They have a tendency to charge customers unfairly high prices for their food. Additionally, they have a habit of shouting at individuals who wish to explore the trails, falsely asserting that it is their personal property.
Please note that lifeguards supervise 6 beaches in the island, but you should rely on more than just them, remember the elementary rules, as lifeguards are not on duty around the clock, even on equipped beaches!
Finding hotels in relative proximity to the beaches is usually fine. Many beaches have enough nearby accommodation, which gives good opportunities to choose the right place to stay.
The hottest month of the island is August - air temperature during this time warms up to 26.1°C and water up to 22.7°C. The coldest month is February - air temperature drops to 10°C and water to 10.3°C.
Do you know how many beaches there are in Heybeliada? In total there are 7 beaches and the most popular is Asaf Aile Plaji.
