A truly lovely beach that wasn't too crowded when I visited in the evening, making it perfect for a walk. The waves were a bit too close to the shore for ideal surfing or bodyboarding, but it would be excellent for swimming if you go earlier in the day. Some parts of the beach are covered with lots of shells, which are beautiful but can be sharp, so watch your step. I also found many of the stones on the shore to have unique textures and colors, which was quite fascinating. This beach is definitely a fantastic spot to check out if you're nearby.
Our day trip to the Gold Coast was the quintessential "tourist experience." We were pleasantly surprised by how much the area has evolved. Broadbeach Boulevard offered an interesting stroll. The beaches now feature dune plantings, and the nature strips have been beautifully landscaped.
The Gold Coast retains its quirky charm with the "Surfers Paradise Beach" sign. The Pink Poodle sign has even been heritage listed. We spotted a fabulous teal-colored Austin A40 car and visited The Royal Queensland Art Society Gold Coast gallery.
The beach was not overcrowded, and the water was the perfect temperature, ideal for swimming.
