This beach in Costa Rica is quite overrated, in my opinion. Sure, you can catch a decent sunset here, but don't be fooled by the warm water and inviting swimming conditions. You'll have to fork over a hefty 6 dollars plus tax just to enter for the day, and even then, your time is limited. It's a shame that such a beautiful natural wonder has been turned into a money-making scheme. Save your cash and find a less commercialized spot to enjoy the waves.

Another added bonus is that many of the shopkeepers speak English, making it easy for travelers to communicate. Be careful when visiting this beach as there have been reports of theft. Unfortunately, our car was broken into and robbed while we were there. It seems that thieves are aware of the vulnerability of visitors and take advantage of it. There are plenty of great beaches in the area that are regularly monitored to prevent crime, so it's best to choose one of those instead. It's possible that the thieves are living or camping in the surrounding jungle and targeting visitors on a daily basis. We won't be returning to this beach with our family.
