The beach has a wide variety of delectable food options including tarama, cacıki, aubergine salad, and outstanding seafood. Yannis plays a crucial role in making the experience enjoyable. Additionally, the beach has a charming and welcoming atmosphere due to its warm family-oriented business.
Anemos is a hidden gem tucked away from the main street of Kardamena. It's a popular spot among the locals for dining! Our group consisted of 10 people and we indulged in a variety of mezze plates. The waiter was extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu and offering suggestions. The vegetarian options were plentiful, so I didn't even have to ask for them! Each dish was prepared fresh by the chef and they were all absolutely delicious. Without a doubt, this was the best meal we had during our 10-day stay in Kardamena. I highly recommend making a reservation here. Sundays tend to be very busy, and they close around 5:30, I believe. Don't forget to try the Ozzo as well. The Favva beans and giant beans are outstanding, and the whole table loved the chickpea fritters and fried courgette dishes. For dessert, make sure to try the small ice cream.
Be sure to make a reservation if you want to secure a table! We arrived around 7ish and were fortunate enough to find a table, but it quickly started filling up. The restaurant has a limited number of 14 tables outside, so it's on the smaller side, but still good. It can be quite challenging for walk-in customers. We ordered the seafood platter for 2, which was absolutely delicious. However, it's important to note that the platter does not come with any sides. Initially, we were inclined to give it a 5-star rating, but towards the end, we felt rushed due to the queue of people waiting. It somewhat detracted from the overall experience, as we felt self-conscious with others observing us while we ate, creating an awkward atmosphere.
The restaurant provided a pleasant atmosphere with a beautiful view. We enjoyed dishes such as Greek salad, seafood pasta, fried squid, and house wine. Additionally, they kindly offered us ice cream as a dessert. Although the service was slightly slow, it was understandable due to the high number of customers, and the staff remained polite throughout.
We ordered the fish platter for two, which was quite generous (maybe even a bit too much for me 😂). The house wine was excellent, just like our attentive waitress. Don't forget to try matiska, a delightful sweet liquor from Ios (I might have spelled it wrong, but the staff will definitely be familiar with it!).
