The day’s itinerary is completely flexible, as it is your day not ours! We embark on a comfortable picturesque journey through the Hills or along the coast. We start the day at Olivers Taranga vineyards where we get to taste wines in the beautiful cellar door next to the vines that the fruit is sourced from. Our 2nd visit is to the Iconic d’Arenberg Cube described as a winery built within a Rubik’s Cube Once we have finished exploring the five levels of the Cube, we sit down for a delicious 2-course lunch at the award winning d’Arry’s Verandah restaurant where our guests select their own dishes from the seasonal à la carte menu. After lunch we finish the day at Hugo* wines and sample an excellent range of their small batch varietals, at one of the prettiest Cellar Doors and surroundings in the region. *We can offer an excellent alternate winery if your private group prefers a range of alternate Italian varieties to include Whites, Rose and Reds. See Adelaide by e-bike on this fully guided 3-hour tour. Embark on a city e-bike tour starting at Bloom Cafe. After a morning treat, hop on your electric bike and explore Adelaide's highlights. Visit the iconic Adelaide Oval, then cruise along the scenic Linear Park Trail by the River Torrens. Discover landmarks like the Old Adelaide Gaol, Adelaide University, The Art Gallery, South Australian Museum, and the State Library. Ride through the Riverbank Precinct, passing St Peters Cathedral and University Bridge. Pause at the National Wine Centre for a Charcuterie Board & Australian Wine Flight in the Botanic Gardens. Your Tasting in the Dark Experience will begin at the Hardys Tintara Cellar Door. You will meet your host at the Cellar Door where you will be guided to our Fortified Barrel Hall. This room is on the bottom level of the original winery, and maintains a constant temperature of 18 degrees Celsius, so make sure to bring a jacket in the colder months. Your host will then guide you through the wine tasting process and describe what role each of the senses play during the process. With the lights turned down, blindfolds on, and sipping from black wine glasses, you will discover what happens when you remove the sense of sight, and understand how it influences your wine tasting experience. This tasting is about enhancing your wine knowledge and gaining a deeper understanding of your palate.

One of the most significant wineries in McLaren Vale, d’Arenberg was established in 1912 when Joseph Osborn, a teetotaler and director of Thomas Hardy and Sons, sold his stable of prize winning horses to purchase the property that now houses the winery, cellar door and d’Arry’s Verandah Restaurant. Today, fourth generation family member Chester makes distinctive wines using traditional methods both in the vineyard and the winery.
