Hi, I’m Alvaro, and together we’ll embark on a journey to the heart of Oaxaca. Our first stop is Teotitlán del Valle, where we’ll visit an artisan cooperative dedicated to preserving the ancestral techniques of wool dyeing and weaving. From there, we’ll head to my picturesque hometown of Mitla—surrounded by beautiful mountains and agave fields. Driven by a desire to share my culture and traditions with you, I’ll guide you through these majestic agave landscapes so you can learn more about the plants and discover why mezcal comes in such a wide variety of flavors. There will be plenty of laughter and photo opportunities along the way. Afterward, we’ll visit our family distillery to see the production process step-by-step and witness the passion that goes into making it. We’ll wrap things up by tasting various types of mezcal accompanied by a delicious, authentic Oaxacan meal. The tradition of the day of the dead in Oaxaca is something you have to live at least once in your life. It is only the 31st of October evening and we have few places available. We will visit 03 pantheons of the most important: General Pantheon, Xoxocotlan Pantheon and Atzompa Pantheon. The pantheons open their doors for family, friends and visitors to enjoy this tradition that is one of the most important in Mexico. Music, food and tradition is what awaits you. Our experience is an educational tour to learn about the culture of mezcal and all the tradition that surrounds it. We will begin our trip starting from the center of the city of Oaxaca and we will visit the towns of Mitla and Matatlán.
