Cala Sataria is located on the southwestern coast of the island, near the road that leads from the capital to Scauri. The beach is accompanied by the Grotta di Sataria, a legendary and sizable cave. According to legend, this cave is where Ulysses met the goddess Calypso. The thermal waters that flow here have been renowned since ancient times for their ability to treat rheumatic pains and arthritis. The water temperature reaches 40° and is divided into two tanks, one of which connects to the sea. Unfortunately, the area is not well-maintained and access is currently prohibited.

Located on the southern coast of the island, along the perimeter road that leads from the capital to Scauri, is western Cala Sataria. Close by is the Grotta di Sataria, a legendary and very large cave that is said to be the place where Ulysses met the Goddess Calypso. The thermal waters that flow out of the cave have been famous since ancient times for treating rheumatic pains and arthritis, and they reach a temperature of 40 °C. The water flows into two pools, one of which is connected to the sea. Unfortunately, the cove is in a state of neglect and access is currently barred. Despite this, the cove is still an interesting spot due to the famous cave that provides shelter from the sun and wind. However, it has been closed for some time due to the risk of collapse, and while it is still possible to visit, the appearance of the area is that of a dilapidated and unsafe place. It's a shame because if it were made safe, it would be accessible to everyone.
