We booked three villas and visited this resort in early August. It was well-advertised and received positive recommendations on social media. However, we noticed that the island/resort has a mosquito problem that, in our opinion, is not being effectively controlled by the current management. Customer services also did not seem to take the issue seriously. Unfortunately, my daughter-in-law contracted Dengue Fever from numerous mosquito bites, and she was in the early stages of pregnancy at the time. While Dengue Fever is considered common in the Maldives, this was the first time we encountered it in our 20 years of visiting Maldivian resorts. Thankfully, our 18-month-old grandson did not get infected. Due to these concerns, I cannot recommend this resort and we will not be returning. Additionally, there were other issues we encountered during our stay. The fixed wing service was not satisfactory as we were offered a departure time of 03:45 in the morning, even though we had an 18-month-old baby with us, for a 12:50 flight from Male. Guest services seemed surprised when we objected to this. Furthermore, despite the resort advertising multiple restaurants, not all of them were available each night, making it difficult to secure a booking. Additionally, the Beach Club that was advertised turned out to be a small kiosk next to the swimming pool, not a proper restaurant. Lastly, the dive shop did not adhere to PADI protocols regarding gas mix percentage, depth, and dive time recording. Considering our extensive experience of holidaying in the Maldives for over 20 years, this resort ranks very low among our previous experiences.
