Νήσος Σεντ Τζον: 27 παραλίες στην περιοχή

Όμορφη παραλία. Υπάρχει μια μεγάλη περιοχή κοραλλιών κατευθείαν έξω περίπου 50 πόδια από την ακτή. Το νερό εδώ έχει μερικά πιο δυνατά κύματα, αλλά υπήρχαν πολλά ψάρια και η παραλία ήταν ωραία.

Trunk Bay There’s a reason this gets called the #1 beach in the world. The sand is powder soft, the water an unreal blue, and the services surrounding the beach (food, drinks, rentals) make for a truly great day trip. The snorkeling was OK but just OK when we were there; the reef looks like it’s still recovering from storms. But decent amount of fish, going down the left side of Trunk Cay (facing the water) is the snorkel trail, water’s a little rougher on the right side but still doable. There’s stuff to see on both sides. Believe it or not the highlight of the day was the tuna bites from the food shack; we ate at most of the good restaurants on St; John the week we were there, and we all agreed that tuna was the best thing we ate the whole time! Not sure how they do it but they are awesome. The drinks are top-notch, probably the best painkiller I had on the island as well. The one drawback to Trunk Bay is parking, which can be downright chaotic. So get there early. We arrived at 9am and the lot was already full. There’s a little bit of road parking, but be very careful you don’t park where others can block you in – because they will. Also don’t park where they say not to –Park Service actually had a boat come by during the afternoon announcing that anyone parked in a no parking zone would be towed.

Just another gem of a beach on St. John. This one is a short drive from Coral Bay and is stunning like many other beaches on the island. Waters are more protected versus the north shore beaches so it's very calm which is perfect for young kids learning how to snorkel. Excellent beach for families with younger children.

Upon check-in, one of the rooms was not ready and we were told we would be notified when it was ready. We were not and when it had taken a significant amount of time, we checked with the front desk and were told that it was actually now ready (we don't know why they didn't contact us). However, upon checkin to that room (the single room villa), there was still food in the refrigerator. Management provided a complementary breakfast to the residents of that single room villa, but it certainly provided a less than excellent beginning to our trip. Our very first morning, we were awoken to housekeeping knocking on the door at 7am to give us more creamer (that we had not requested). We took it, because I was still very sleepy, but my guess is they came to the wrong room. After being awoken so abruptly, I was unable to get back to sleep. Near the end of the week, housekeeping showed up to do their services at 4:40pm, when we were all getting ready for dinner. We asked if we could have 15 minutes to finish getting ready and the housekeeper told us that she was done with work in a few minutes and so wouldn't be able to come back. She gave us a big of fresh towels and left. The next day I called the front desk and asked if housekeeping could refresh the room since it was missed yesterday. I was told they would leave a note but there was no guarantee anyone would come. No one did. At dinner our last night, a tree frog jumped into the patio. He was very cute and jumping around, which of course made some of the guests stand up and be a bit anxious. One person at our table was trying to catch him to release him back into the area outside the restaurant. A staff member stomped on him to kill him and then threw him in the trash, much to the shock and horror of our eight-year-old daughter. On our last day, we called for a shuttle to come and bring us and our luggage to the taxi stand. While my wife and daughter waited, I walked to the front desk to check out. There was a long distance charge on our room but the charge was not associated with a phone number (it only had six digits). I had to push and request a supervisor before it was taken off. When I finished and returned to the taxi stand, I discovered that the golf cart shuttle had never arrived and my wife and daughter were wrestling our luggage down the hill form building 24 all by themselves to the taxi stand.

Just another gem of a beach on St. John. This one is a short drive from Coral Bay and is stunning like many other beaches on the island. Waters are more protected versus the north shore beaches so it's very calm which is perfect for young kids learning how to snorkel. Excellent beach for families with younger children.

Upon check-in, one of the rooms was not ready and we were told we would be notified when it was ready. We were not and when it had taken a significant amount of time, we checked with the front desk and were told that it was actually now ready (we don't know why they didn't contact us). However, upon checkin to that room (the single room villa), there was still food in the refrigerator. Management provided a complementary breakfast to the residents of that single room villa, but it certainly provided a less than excellent beginning to our trip. Our very first morning, we were awoken to housekeeping knocking on the door at 7am to give us more creamer (that we had not requested). We took it, because I was still very sleepy, but my guess is they came to the wrong room. After being awoken so abruptly, I was unable to get back to sleep. Near the end of the week, housekeeping showed up to do their services at 4:40pm, when we were all getting ready for dinner. We asked if we could have 15 minutes to finish getting ready and the housekeeper told us that she was done with work in a few minutes and so wouldn't be able to come back. She gave us a big of fresh towels and left. The next day I called the front desk and asked if housekeeping could refresh the room since it was missed yesterday. I was told they would leave a note but there was no guarantee anyone would come. No one did. At dinner our last night, a tree frog jumped into the patio. He was very cute and jumping around, which of course made some of the guests stand up and be a bit anxious. One person at our table was trying to catch him to release him back into the area outside the restaurant. A staff member stomped on him to kill him and then threw him in the trash, much to the shock and horror of our eight-year-old daughter. On our last day, we called for a shuttle to come and bring us and our luggage to the taxi stand. While my wife and daughter waited, I walked to the front desk to check out. There was a long distance charge on our room but the charge was not associated with a phone number (it only had six digits). I had to push and request a supervisor before it was taken off. When I finished and returned to the taxi stand, I discovered that the golf cart shuttle had never arrived and my wife and daughter were wrestling our luggage down the hill form building 24 all by themselves to the taxi stand.

Trunk Bay There’s a reason this gets called the #1 beach in the world. The sand is powder soft, the water an unreal blue, and the services surrounding the beach (food, drinks, rentals) make for a truly great day trip. The snorkeling was OK but just OK when we were there; the reef looks like it’s still recovering from storms. But decent amount of fish, going down the left side of Trunk Cay (facing the water) is the snorkel trail, water’s a little rougher on the right side but still doable. There’s stuff to see on both sides. Believe it or not the highlight of the day was the tuna bites from the food shack; we ate at most of the good restaurants on St; John the week we were there, and we all agreed that tuna was the best thing we ate the whole time! Not sure how they do it but they are awesome. The drinks are top-notch, probably the best painkiller I had on the island as well. The one drawback to Trunk Bay is parking, which can be downright chaotic. So get there early. We arrived at 9am and the lot was already full. There’s a little bit of road parking, but be very careful you don’t park where others can block you in – because they will. Also don’t park where they say not to –Park Service actually had a boat come by during the afternoon announcing that anyone parked in a no parking zone would be towed.

Dec 2025. Excellent hike. Parking for maybe two cars just past the trailhead. Trailhead is completely overgrown as is much of the trail itself. Grass up to one's chest, difficult to see the rocky trail below, pick your steps carefully and take your time. Tough to follow the trail in many spots all the way out to the point. First hundred yards or so are very overgrown and uphill. Then once you're up to the ridge parts of the trail are more open and in good shape. Navigating all the way out to the point takes persistence as the trail literally disappears in a few spots. The rocky outcrops on the tip of the point are fantastic. Amazing views. Beautiful rocks and surf. A great hike and worth persisting thru the overgrowth! Note: parts of the road getting up to the trailhead are very rough. Jeep only.

There's only one parking spot available down a partially dirt road. The road transitions from asphalt to dirt/gravel at the national park sign, so be cautious if you're heading there for sunrise. The trail is fairly well maintained, with evidence of recent weed whacking. I highly recommend this spot for winter sunrise views. Once you reach the second hill, the trees thin out, offering stunning views to both the southeast and southwest. Finding good sunrise locations in January can be challenging, but if you're willing to start hiking in the dark, this is an excellent choice. Additionally, you're unlikely to encounter other people, but don't be surprised if you come across a deer or two.

And if that's not enough, stingrays gracefully glide by like submarines, ensuring that you leave this beach experience with one last amazing story to tell your friends. Maho Bay in St. John, Virgin Islands, is the beach that has it all – convenience, delicious food, and nature's most fascinating performers. It's the kind of place that fills my soul with happiness!

Αυτή η ειδυλλιακή παραλία μπορεί να υπερηφανεύεται για ένα απομονωμένο και οικείο περιβάλλον, το οποίο ονομάστηκε κατάλληλα για την απόλυτη ρομαντική απόδραση. Αν ναι, θα υπάρχει πολύς κόσμος στην παραλία από τα πλοία. Τα πλοία ψαροντούφεκου σταματούν εδώ στα μέσα της πρωίας για περίπου μία ώρα.

Μια υπέροχη απομονωμένη παραλία που δεν γέμιζε αν και ήταν σε μικρή απόσταση από το σημείο αποβίβασης των κρουαζιερόπλοιων. Η πεζοπορία είναι περίπου ένα μίλι αλλά αρκετά βραχώδης και απότομη σε μερικά σημεία, οπότε φυσικά κρατάει μακριά τον κόσμο. Το νερό ήταν καθαρό και όμορφο. Μετανιώνω που δεν είχα μάσκα μαζί μου, καθώς θα ήταν υπέροχο μέρος για καταδύσεις με αναπνευστήρα παντού.

Ξεκινήσαμε μια επισφαλής πεζοπορία για να φτάσουμε σε αυτήν την παραλία, αλλά αποφάσισαν να πάρουμε μια παράκαμψη στο σκάφος μας αντ 'αυτού. Upon check-in, one of the rooms was not ready and we were told we would be notified when it was ready. We were not and when it had taken a significant amount of time, we checked with the front desk and were told that it was actually now ready (we don't know why they didn't contact us). However, upon checkin to that room (the single room villa), there was still food in the refrigerator. Management provided a complementary breakfast to the residents of that single room villa, but it certainly provided a less than excellent beginning to our trip. Our very first morning, we were awoken to housekeeping knocking on the door at 7am to give us more creamer (that we had not requested). We took it, because I was still very sleepy, but my guess is they came to the wrong room. After being awoken so abruptly, I was unable to get back to sleep. Near the end of the week, housekeeping showed up to do their services at 4:40pm, when we were all getting ready for dinner. We asked if we could have 15 minutes to finish getting ready and the housekeeper told us that she was done with work in a few minutes and so wouldn't be able to come back. She gave us a big of fresh towels and left. The next day I called the front desk and asked if housekeeping could refresh the room since it was missed yesterday. I was told they would leave a note but there was no guarantee anyone would come. No one did. At dinner our last night, a tree frog jumped into the patio. He was very cute and jumping around, which of course made some of the guests stand up and be a bit anxious. One person at our table was trying to catch him to release him back into the area outside the restaurant. A staff member stomped on him to kill him and then threw him in the trash, much to the shock and horror of our eight-year-old daughter. On our last day, we called for a shuttle to come and bring us and our luggage to the taxi stand. While my wife and daughter waited, I walked to the front desk to check out. There was a long distance charge on our room but the charge was not associated with a phone number (it only had six digits). I had to push and request a supervisor before it was taken off. When I finished and returned to the taxi stand, I discovered that the golf cart shuttle had never arrived and my wife and daughter were wrestling our luggage down the hill form building 24 all by themselves to the taxi stand.

Trunk Bay There’s a reason this gets called the #1 beach in the world. The sand is powder soft, the water an unreal blue, and the services surrounding the beach (food, drinks, rentals) make for a truly great day trip. The snorkeling was OK but just OK when we were there; the reef looks like it’s still recovering from storms. But decent amount of fish, going down the left side of Trunk Cay (facing the water) is the snorkel trail, water’s a little rougher on the right side but still doable. There’s stuff to see on both sides. Believe it or not the highlight of the day was the tuna bites from the food shack; we ate at most of the good restaurants on St; John the week we were there, and we all agreed that tuna was the best thing we ate the whole time! Not sure how they do it but they are awesome. The drinks are top-notch, probably the best painkiller I had on the island as well. The one drawback to Trunk Bay is parking, which can be downright chaotic. So get there early. We arrived at 9am and the lot was already full. There’s a little bit of road parking, but be very careful you don’t park where others can block you in – because they will. Also don’t park where they say not to –Park Service actually had a boat come by during the afternoon announcing that anyone parked in a no parking zone would be towed.

Just another gem of a beach on St. John. This one is a short drive from Coral Bay and is stunning like many other beaches on the island. Waters are more protected versus the north shore beaches so it's very calm which is perfect for young kids learning how to snorkel. Excellent beach for families with younger children.

And let's talk about the service, shall we? The staff at Maho Bay are like a team of beachside superheroes. They're all about making your day extraordinary. Need help setting up your beach gear? They've got you covered. Craving the perfect beachside cocktail? They'll mix one up for you with style and a smile. These folks are the real MVPs of beach hospitality, and they have definitely earned my approval. You have to try the Painkiller cocktail for a delightful combination of rum and coconut with a twist. Now, let's dive into the ocean, shall we? The crystal-clear waters of Maho Bay are so incredibly transparent, it's like swimming in a giant glass of fancy mineral water. I mean, you can actually see your own toes wiggling around down there! And guess what? The resident turtles are quite the party animals. They swim right up to us humans, probably hoping for some snacks. It's like an underwater meet and greet with the coolest sea celebrities. But the real showstopper is the incredible bird spectacle. Every now and then, a flock of seagulls decides to join the party. They swoop down from the sky, performing synchronized aerial acrobatics as they dive into the water to feast on the fish below. It's like a scene straight out of a beachside musical. And if that's not enough, stingrays gracefully glide by like submarines, ensuring that you leave this beach experience with one last amazing story to tell your friends. Maho Bay in St. John, Virgin Islands, is the beach that has it all – convenience, delicious food, and nature's most fascinating performers. It's the kind of place that fills my soul with happiness!

Υπήρχαν χελώνες, μαργαρίτες, πελεκάνοι και γλάροι στην παραλία. Πρόσεχε το φαγητό σου γιατί οι γλάροι είναι πολύ δολεροί! Το νερό ήταν απίστευτα καθαρό, και απολαύσαμε απόλυτα την επίσκεψή μας ♥️.

Κάναμε το ταξίδι εδώ. Μείναμε στο Cruz bay, οπότε είναι 40 λεπτά οδήγηση. Ειλικρινά, σε σύγκριση με όλες τις άλλες παραλίες, θα έλεγα ότι δεν αξίζει τον κόπο. Πηγαίνετε στη παραλία Salt Pond. 13 λεπτά μακριά. Προσπαθούμε να επισκεφτούμε δύο παραλίες την ημέρα και αυτή ήταν απλώς εντάξει. Αλλά ειλικρινά, όλες είναι ακόμα υπέροχες 👍

Just another gem of a beach on St. John. This one is a short drive from Coral Bay and is stunning like many other beaches on the island. Waters are more protected versus the north shore beaches so it's very calm which is perfect for young kids learning how to snorkel. Excellent beach for families with younger children.

Υπέροχη παραλία. Θα πρέπει να κάνετε πεζοπορία από το κέντρο ή από την περιοχή στάθμευσης κάτω από το βουνό από την πόλη. Η πεζοπορία από την περιοχή στάθμευσης είναι 20 λεπτά κατεβαίνοντας και 15 λεπτά ανεβαίνοντας. Η παραλία έχει μπαρ και ένα μέρος ενοικίασης που φαινόταν να ανοίγει ξανά σύντομα. Αν ναι, θα υπάρχει πολύς κόσμος στην παραλία από τα πλοία. Τα πλοία ψαροντούφεκου σταματούν εδώ στα μέσα της πρωίας για περίπου μία ώρα.

Είχαμε υπέροχες στιγμές στο Westin. Η τοποθεσία είναι φανταστική. Η παραλία και η πισίνα είναι θαυμάσιες. Απολαύσαμε πραγματικά τα σανίδια paddle και τα καγιάκ. Το προσωπικό ήταν πολύ εξυπηρετικό και φιλικό. Υπάρχουν ταξί διαθέσιμα για να σας μεταφέρουν όπου θέλετε να πάτε στο νησί, αλλά απολαύσαμε να έχουμε αυτοκίνητο για την οικογένειά μας.

Upon check-in, one of the rooms was not ready and we were told we would be notified when it was ready. We were not and when it had taken a significant amount of time, we checked with the front desk and were told that it was actually now ready (we don't know why they didn't contact us). However, upon checkin to that room (the single room villa), there was still food in the refrigerator. Management provided a complementary breakfast to the residents of that single room villa, but it certainly provided a less than excellent beginning to our trip. Our very first morning, we were awoken to housekeeping knocking on the door at 7am to give us more creamer (that we had not requested). We took it, because I was still very sleepy, but my guess is they came to the wrong room. After being awoken so abruptly, I was unable to get back to sleep. Near the end of the week, housekeeping showed up to do their services at 4:40pm, when we were all getting ready for dinner. We asked if we could have 15 minutes to finish getting ready and the housekeeper told us that she was done with work in a few minutes and so wouldn't be able to come back. She gave us a big of fresh towels and left. The next day I called the front desk and asked if housekeeping could refresh the room since it was missed yesterday. I was told they would leave a note but there was no guarantee anyone would come. No one did. At dinner our last night, a tree frog jumped into the patio. He was very cute and jumping around, which of course made some of the guests stand up and be a bit anxious. One person at our table was trying to catch him to release him back into the area outside the restaurant. A staff member stomped on him to kill him and then threw him in the trash, much to the shock and horror of our eight-year-old daughter. On our last day, we called for a shuttle to come and bring us and our luggage to the taxi stand. While my wife and daughter waited, I walked to the front desk to check out. There was a long distance charge on our room but the charge was not associated with a phone number (it only had six digits). I had to push and request a supervisor before it was taken off. When I finished and returned to the taxi stand, I discovered that the golf cart shuttle had never arrived and my wife and daughter were wrestling our luggage down the hill form building 24 all by themselves to the taxi stand.
