The boardwalk is absolutely lovely, stretching about a mile in length, although the section with shops is much smaller, not comparable to what you would find in Atlantic City.
There is a fascinating assortment of small shops and numerous dining options, especially as you make your way toward Rehoboth Avenue.
The beach and views of the Atlantic Ocean are truly beautiful.
During the busy summer months and weekends, it can get quite crowded, so expect lines at the shops and food establishments, crowded beaches, and limited parking near the boardwalk. When we visited on a summer Wednesday, we had to park about half a mile away along Rehoboth Avenue and walk to the boardwalk. It wasn't too bad of a walk, but it may pose difficulties for older individuals, children, and those with limited mobility.
There are plenty of metered street parking spaces throughout the area, which can be paid for either through the app or with a credit card at the meter. I opted for the credit card payment method after reading a few reviews mentioning that they received tickets despite using the app. It's advisable to carefully read the street signs, as some areas (excluding the main streets) are designated for city-permit parking only. To be on the safe side, I would recommend sticking to the meters. The parking meters cost around $3 per hour and are in effect from May 15th to September 15th, from 10am to 10pm.
