I visited the place with some friends and our kids, we traveled to this place from Morden and the journey wasn’t too bad. Weather was good and the place wasn’t busy.
Lovely place with a nice, clean beach, lake (we were advised do not swim because of the flag but we dip your feet), coffee shop with a great range of food and drinks, playing area for children, toilets and a train ride through the forest( you can buy singe or return ticket).
We had a lovely day.
Ruislip lido is an artificial beach, not very far from the heart of london. It was first constructed in 1811 as a feeder reservoir for the grand junction canal. Later it was transformed into a recreational beach for the mass. It has great cafe, very old woods near the beach and also a small train which is very enjoyable to ride on. Great place for a dayout or picnic and being in nature. I loved spending every moment of my evening there and i will be back for more the next chance i get. 5 star place !
