Playa Grande is located on the Caribbean Sea (part of South Atlantic Ocean) and it is in the 131th place out of 224 beaches in the Puerto Rico region 76.2 km away from its center, the city of San Juan. It is one of the beaches of Isabel Segunda settlement, just 10.1 km from its center. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.

It is a long lasting coastline with crystal turquoise water and bright sand, so you don't need special shoes. The sharpness of entering the water is quite normal. This beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travellers, relaxation getaway lovers etc. It is not crowded place during the season.

Playa Grande is located in Puerto Rico within Isabel Segunda, which makes it not only easily accessible, but even popular among tourists. However, during the high season it is quite uncrowded, which allows you to spend a comfortable time on the coast.

The beach stretches on the coast of the Vieques island, within the boundaries of the settlement, it is not difficult to get to it. If your stay is located not far from the beach, you can reach it by walking. In this case you will not be tied to finding parking or to the schedule of public transport. "This beach is stunning, but not ideal for swimming. It's perfect for sunbathing and strolling, however the entrance is rocky and we ended up getting pricked by sea urchins as we tried to leave the water. We should have brought our snorkeling gear to explore the marine life and a better way to get out of the ocean."

"This beach is one of the most secluded on the island, so a 4WD is highly recommended for access. There is plenty of parking at the entrance, but as you go further in, it becomes more and more remote with fewer parking spots. The waves here are usually quite strong."
