That place offers a stunning view and is perfect for those who want to enjoy a local experience without the crowds of tourists. Additionally, it is easily accessible, making it a convenient choice for visitors.

Bahoruco beach

The beach is decent, but it could use some upkeep from the government. Additionally, the beach has light, fine pebbles.

San Rafael beach
6 Renata Montez

I had always wanted to visit San Rafael beach since childhood, but I put it off for a while. However, I recently visited and it exceeded my expectations. Additionally, the beach has light, fine pebbles which adds to its charm. As a bonus, I suggest checking out Villa Miriam, which is the same river but in a more organized setting.

Caleton beach
6 Nelio Martez

The pristine beauty of the beach is undeniable, however, it is not recommended for swimming due to the fierce waves that can be quite challenging to navigate.

Patos beach

If you're looking for a spot to drag your family to, then this beach in Barahona is definitely worth a visit. The scenery is breathtaking and the grub is scrumptious. The locals are a friendly bunch too. However, I'm not going to give it a perfect score because the lavatories could use a little extra attention. Plus, the tables are a tad too close for comfort, especially since COVID-19 is still out there lurking. But, if you can look past those minor grievances, then this is definitely a place you don't want to miss out on when you're in the Dominican Republic.
