Kalathas Beach

The beach is kept very clean by the "chair people". Great chairs, great price and a restaurant on site as well. The water is very clean! Awesome for snorkeling around the little island !!

This wonderful family-friendly beach, Stavros Beach, proved to be a perfect hideaway from the windy weather during our visit. The natural harbor and the mountain's protection provided a serene environment that allowed us to enjoy the beach without any disturbance. Although the price of €25 for an umbrella and two loungers seemed a bit steep, the beach's organization and the restaurant's drinks and food service made it worthwhile, especially since we had a small child with us. The beach was one of the cleanest we have ever visited during our trip to Crete, with pristine sand and crystal-clear water. It's an ideal spot for families as the waves are minimal, and the few rocks on the water's entry are not enough to require wearing shoes. Overall, we had a great time at Stavros Beach and couldn't help but compare it to other beaches we visited during our stay.

Koum Kapi Beach

This petite stretch of shoreline boasts soft, velvety sand and is an idyllic spot for taking a dip in the refreshing waters.

The beach's location is fantastic, making it an ideal spot for families or those seeking a peaceful getaway away from the hustle and bustle. However, the water is contaminated, so it's not the best option for those seeking a touristy atmosphere. Despite this, we still enjoyed ourselves.

This exquisite beach may be small, but it is a hidden gem that is worth discovering. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would highly recommend it. However, during the peak summer season, it can become quite busy with tourists. If you plan on visiting, keep these three things in mind. Firstly, the road leading to the beach is narrow and winding, so you must drive with caution. It's not impossible, but it does require careful attention. Secondly, the hike down to the beach from the parking area can be challenging, so it's best to wear appropriate footwear. Sandals are not recommended for this hike, but don't worry, it's not too strenuous. Lastly, it's best to visit in the first half of the day as the sun starts to disappear behind the cliffs in the afternoon. Overall, this beach is a must-see destination that promises an unforgettable experience.

This cozy beach may appear more expansive in photographs, but it provides ample space for families to enjoy the refreshing sea. However, be wary of pesky sand fleas that may make an appearance. While the rental fees for umbrellas and lounge chairs may be steep compared to other nearby beaches, bringing your own equipment can make for a more affordable and pleasant experience. The canteen's drink prices may also be on the higher side. It's best to avoid laying directly on the moist sand to prevent a damp towel, but the ocean's cool waters are a welcome respite. Overall, this beach is a great spot for families seeking a relaxing day by the sea.
