Lacona Beach

The vast sandy beach is a popular destination for families with children, although it can get quite crowded at times. While it may not be the most visually stunning beach on the island, beauty is subjective and varies from person to person. However, the lack of necessary infrastructure for such a large central beach is a definite drawback. The limited parking and absence of showers are disappointing, but the complete absence of public toilets is a major issue. Despite walking back and forth along the beach and even searching online, no public toilets were found. Inquiries with beach workers revealed that the only option was to use the restrooms at nearby bars. This lack of basic facilities is a serious concern, particularly for families with young children who may struggle to manage such a situation. Adequate public toilets and a few showers are essential components of basic beach infrastructure.

While the beach on Elba island is certainly pleasant, it didn't quite capture my heart like some of the other stunning beaches in the area. That being said, Marina di Campo is a charming town that provides a wonderful home base for a short stay.

Scaglieri Beach

This year we visited the beach. Last year it was too crowded to find parking.

The picturesque setting of this beach is simply amazing. Although it may be small in size, the people here are incredibly friendly and humorous, making for a delightful experience. The stunning view of the ocean is truly a sight to behold.

The beach is within walking distance from the nearby parking areas, and the water is crystal clear, which, in my opinion, sets it apart from other beaches on the island. The area seems to be somewhat crowded, so I suggest bringing shoes to easily navigate the rocky water entry. Overall, I still believe it's a destination worth visiting, although not one of the top-notch beaches.

Spiaggia Le Tombe

To access this secluded beach, one must take a 20-minute stroll down a path from SP25. The cove offers a breathtaking view of Corsica and Pianosa. However, it's not advisable to climb up during the hottest hours of the day. This beach may not be suitable for children.
