Atlantic beach

There are plenty of activities to indulge in at the beach, from water sports to quality family time with your furry friends. However, it's worth noting that the winds can be quite strong, and if you're not a confident swimmer, it's best to avoid the water as the waves can be quite forceful. Despite this, I had a wonderful time during my visit and would definitely recommend it as a great day out.

The ocean was pleasantly warm and inviting, providing a delightful experience for the entire family. The beach was not overcrowded, allowing us to unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings.

This stunning beach is a must-see destination for any beach lover. However, finding a spot to park can be a bit of a challenge since there is no dedicated parking lot for this location. Instead, visitors must park on the street. It's important to note that there are no restrooms or changing rooms available, so plan accordingly. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that the western section of Isla Verde Beach is reserved for hotel guests only.

This beach has a vast expanse of sandy shoreline, perfect for basking in the sun's warm glow. The area is dotted with an ample number of trees, providing a pleasant respite from the sun's rays. However, the water is not without its obstacles, as there are numerous large rocks scattered throughout. If you venture beyond the rock barrier, be prepared for some sizable waves - water shoes are a must. But the effort is worth it, as the underwater world is teeming with vibrant fish. And keep your eyes peeled for the many iguanas that call this area home.

Welcome to the Copacabana of Puerto Rico, also known as Isla Verde. This tropical paradise boasts a stunning beach that is the envy of the entire metropolitan area. The yellow sands are framed by towering palm trees, high-end hotels, restaurants, and shops. You can even take a relaxing stroll on the sun-kissed public beach, complete with top-notch toilet and shower facilities. We were lucky enough to visit during sunset, which made for a romantic walk on the fine sand with our significant other. Although we didn't take a dip in the water, we could feel the refreshing ocean breeze and hear the soothing sound of waves crashing. The beach is divided into three main areas: Pine Grove, where locals go surfing; Alambique, a more laid-back strip of sand; and Balneario de Carolina, a relaxed location with lifeguards and ample parking spaces. What's more, Isla Verde is conveniently located near the main San Juan airport and is a hop, skip, and a jump away from the El Yunque rainforest. And for all you pet lovers out there, the beach is pet-friendly, so we saw plenty of four-legged friends frolicking in the water. So, pack your bags and get ready to experience the beauty of Isla Verde for yourself!

This beach is perfect for families or solo visitors. It is clean, with garbage cans conveniently placed throughout and outdoor showers available. I didn't check for restrooms, but they may be available. People can be seen fishing off the rocks and kayaking, although kayaking is not allowed at this beach. The water is a mix of warm and cool in different areas. The waves are generally small, with occasional higher waves during hurricane season, but mostly calm during my three-week stay, except for one day. There is a children's park and basketball court, and lifeguards are on duty until 5 pm.
