Despite its idyllic town, beautiful waves, and good surfing conditions, Punta Hidalgo has seen a rise in unfriendly behavior from locals towards guest surfers. Even with absolute compliance to surf etiquette, visitors find themselves unwelcome and grumpily expelled from the spot. This is a great shame, as it takes away from the joy of surfing and the opportunity to experience the beauty of the location. The local surfers may benefit from having the waves to themselves for the time being, but in the long run, these attitudes will likely have a negative impact on the surrounding businesses. It is hoped that the locals will become more relaxed and tolerant, and that visitors will continue to demonstrate good surf etiquette. Unfortunately, this situation has caused me to change my plans and leave earlier than expected.

My family has been visiting this beach for years. It's a special place that helps us forget all our worries. The pools are always sparkling clean, and the kids find plenty of fun activities to enjoy. Plus, the sunsets are breathtakingly gorgeous! Truly spectacular!

This location is a hidden gem! It's a gorgeous natural pool with lifeguards, mostly locals and hardly any tourists. The atmosphere is really pleasant and there's plenty of parking. It's an ideal spot for a relaxing swim.

The beach area is nothing special. The natural pool is okay, but it's nothing extraordinary. The restaurant and changing rooms are alright, but the toilets are free, which isn't really a plus.

Amazing with the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Getting there can be a bit tricky, but the journey is worth it. Not to mention, there's a quaint little church right next door. It's a great spot for a peaceful getaway.

The beach was a great place to take a break after a long hike. The water was refreshing and inviting, even if it wasn't ideal for swimming. It was the perfect way to cool off before leaving.
