Pentewan beach

This stunning beach is conveniently located and requires only a short 200m walk on level ground to reach. The crystal-clear water and immaculate sand make for a picturesque setting, and visitors can enjoy a refreshing swim or simply soak up the sun. Please note that dogs are only permitted on the beach during the winter months, from November to March. It's worth noting that there are no restroom or other amenities available, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Gorran Haven Beach

This beach is perfect for families, although it's on the smaller side. We stumbled upon a charming little cafe called Coast Path Cafe just a short walk away, where I indulged in a scrumptious cream tea (which I devoured before snapping a photo). The beach is also dog-friendly and the owners are incredibly hospitable.

Porthpean beach

This secluded stretch of sand is an absolute gem, boasting breathtaking vistas that will leave you speechless. The water is as placid as a millpond, and the beach itself is a real beauty. As if that weren't enough, there are even restrooms and a dinky little snack bar to keep you fueled up and refreshed throughout the day. This destination is a real winner for the whole clan, and the cherry on top? You'll only have to hoof it a few minutes from the car park to get here.

Carne beach

Without a doubt, this beach was the highlight of our year. The sand was incredibly soft and the water was just the right depth for young children to enjoy. We were pleased to find that there were plenty of facilities nearby, yet the beach remained relatively peaceful despite the beautiful weather. However, there was one minor issue we encountered. The car park can be a bit of a challenge, particularly if you arrive after 10am. While National Trust members can park for free, others must pay either with cash or through the app. If you want to secure a spot, it's best to arrive early and avoid the inevitable crowds that arrive during peak season. But if you do manage to snag a spot, you'll be in for a real treat.

Hemmick beach

This nice beach boasts of its beauty and charm. However, it is important to note that there are only three parking spaces available and the roads leading to the beach are not in good condition. To truly appreciate the breathtaking views, it is highly recommended to take a stroll along the coast path. This idyllic location is definitely worth a visit.

Caerhays Beach (Porthluney Bay)

We stumbled upon this beach just two days before we left, and it's no surprise why it has such high ratings. The cove is stunning with gentle waves that are perfect for everyone. Although there may be some seaweed floating around, it doesn't seem to bother anyone. As you move further out, the water gradually gets deeper, and even at 5'11, I was only around my shoulders 60/70m out. There is a pay-to-park lot and a cafe/shack that serves food and drinks. Unfortunately, we did notice a few cigarette butts left behind by campers at the top, and we wish we had discovered this beach earlier. On the plus side, it's very dog-friendly, and well-behaved dogs can run off-leash with their owners. However, if your dog is not well-behaved, please keep them on a leash.
