Latest reviews on Downderry's beaches

Looe beach

This charming beach is quite pleasant with all the necessary amenities, such as restrooms and ice cream shops, conveniently located nearby. However, the only drawback is the lengthy hike from the large parking lot on the outskirts of town with all of your belongings. Additionally, as evidenced by my photos, the beach can become quite crowded, resulting in a dense population on the sand.

Millendreath Sea Pool

To be frank, the pool vicinity seems to be in a state of disarray and has been for quite some time. It seems that instead of fixing the issues, they have put in minimal effort to ensure safety. Nevertheless, the adjacent shoreline is one of our preferred destinations.

Seaton beach

The beach, located just 3 miles from Looe, is always a pleasant experience and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. It's popular with dog walkers and the beach cafe offers reasonably priced food with friendly and efficient service. The beach offers beautiful sea views in both directions, but parking is limited to a few dozen metered spots right by the beach. Despite some local flooding and nearby fields turning into ponds on the day we visited, it was still an enjoyable experience.

Tregantle beach

Tregantle beach is an absolute gem worth exploring. During our off-season visit, we found ourselves with the entire beach to bask in its beauty. It was an idyllic experience that left us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

Sharrow beach

This beach was absolutely stunning, featuring a delightful combination of sandy areas and rocky sections. The rock pools teemed with vibrant marine life, adding to the beach's charm. The presence of vigilant lifeguards patrolling the area ensured the safety of all beachgoers. Informative signs provided essential details such as the high and low tide timings, the number of lifeguards on duty, and the sea temperature. It's worth noting that accessing the beach involves a moderately steep descent, making it less suitable for individuals with limited mobility.

This beach is fantastic for dog owners, as it is dog-friendly. We enjoyed a beautiful walk from Looe along the coastal path, and the views were absolutely stunning.
