Portreath Beach

This beach is perfect for families with plenty of shops, food options, and restrooms. The car park is just a quick walk away from the beach. We stayed until sunset and it was a truly breathtaking experience.

Gwithian beach

This beach is absolutely stunning, the most beautiful one we've ever seen! It can be a bit tricky to find and access, making it not ideal for those with pushchairs or in wheelchairs. After driving down to the surrounding hillside and walking past a freshwater lake and cobbles, we finally reached this breathtaking beach. Walking barefoot along the long and beautiful stretch of sand felt like a slice of Heaven - peaceful, spacious, and calming. The beach was virtually deserted, with the soothing sound of the waves and the vast blue sky above. We enjoyed watching the surfers and collecting rocks and pebbles. The only downside was that many people brought their dogs to the beach, which wasn't a problem except for the occasional bag of dog waste left at the entrance, tarnishing an otherwise beautiful spot.

This beach is truly delightful. To reach it, you must descend the dune from the access point near the Haven Cav site. However, it is disheartening to see an abundance of microplastics scattered along the shoreline, which is a cause of concern for our planet. 😔🌊

Porthtowan beach

We spent four nights in town and every evening we would take a short walk to the beach from our BnB and restaurants. It was a lively place, with people of all ages enjoying the sun, the views, and the water. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood. It was a fantastic spot and watching the sunset was simply breathtaking. Although it could get quite cool once the sun had gone down, even in summer. The beach was very clean and wide, with plenty of space for everyone to BBQ, play, relax, and walk their dogs. The water was cold and the waves could be quite rough, but we weren't planning on swimming anyway. To get even better views, you could take the small trail on the eastern side of the beach. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the beach was dog-friendly in the evenings all year round. Our Bulldog loved it as much as we did. The Blue Bar at the beach was a great spot for dinner in town and we really enjoyed it. There was a large parking lot at the beach, but it was full on the weekend. This beach in a lovely small town was really great and we loved it.

This beach is truly enchanting and has a plethora of activities to enjoy. From exploring the rock pools to taking long walks on the expansive and never-ending sands, to swimming and playing in the wild sea, and hiking along the cliff tops, there is something for everyone. Additionally, the vast sand dunes provide a perfect spot to hide away. Plus, the beach offers convenient amenities such as a car park, toilets, pub, small shop, and cafe, making it an ideal destination.
