Cleethorpes Beach

This beach is fantastic when the tide is in, but when it recedes (and I mean recedes!!!) there are superior beaches out there. The sand on the upper part is incredibly soft and pristine. However, below the high tide mark, the sand becomes muddy, smelly in certain areas, and stretches on for miles. I estimate that the low water point is approximately 1½ miles away. The amusements and shops located above the beach are excellent and provide everything that anyone could need. There is parking available right on the road (arrive early) as well as near the train station. Restrooms are conveniently located near the promenade and train station. Overall, this is a wonderful beach that offers everything necessary for a great day out. It would have received a 5-star rating if it weren't for the presence of mud. I'm not being overly critical, just mentioning that if you were to visit and experience it firsthand, the mud might spoil your day if no one had warned you about it.

Watch out for the sneaky tides during this season, they almost had me fooled. The beach is a treasure trove of seals, dogfish, and fossils waiting to be discovered. It's the perfect spot for a fun-filled day out, but make sure to keep your wits about you. Don't let those tricky tides catch you off guard!
