Sandsend beach

This beautiful beach offers the opportunity to discover fossils and rocks, and it is also dog-friendly, with nearby cafes and gift shops. An additional benefit is that the beach can be accessed without having to navigate steep cliff paths.

Whitby Beach

Whitby is a beautiful coastal destination, but it seems that the amount of tourists is heavily influenced by the weather. It could be enhanced further with additional shops, and having a McDonald's would be beneficial. Additionally, it's quite surprising that everything closes as early as 9pm.

Skinningrove Beach

What a fantastic beach. It was peaceful and secluded during our visit, with only a few dog walkers and hikers passing by along the coastal path. It's a hidden gem of a beach that our dog thoroughly enjoyed, playing with other dogs. If you're looking for a quiet beach, this is a must-visit. You'll need to park in a free carpark a short distance away, so be sure to grab a spot quickly. We were lucky to be staying in a nearby cottage, so we didn't need to worry about parking. The walk to the beach is lovely, passing by the boat monument and jetty. If you didn't know it was there, you might miss this hidden beach - a true discovery. We're already planning our next visit, which will include a hike along the coast.
